My friend and I race alot he has a 98 M3 with cat backs, lightend fly wheel, power shifter and cold air intake.... Bmw rates it at 255 stock. I have a 95 GT with a cold air intake only...
its rated at 215 stock. why do i beat him by half a car length all the way to 100..??
(thats the speed we stop)
is yours a manual? that might have something to do with it. A lightened flywheel will give minimal help... but ultimately, like roundmanracing said, the weight of the car kills the times.
yah we bolth have manuals ...but he does have a kick a$$ traction controlsystem that would keep it even... untill i got 295s on the back. But his car at least drivablity wise feels much lighter than my car
i think the stock M3 98 is rated at 240 stock. anyways the weight of the M3 is a little heavier and it doesn't have as much torque. that's why you kick the beautiful 40,000 dollar (new) car in the a$$.
hey denis85, you have good taste in cars. the M3 will do the quarter mile in 14.5, but our stangs can do it in 14.10 stock, of coarse with professional drivers.
maaaaaaaaaaaaaan the E36 M3's are slooooow in a straight. These few kids at a local high school thought they were badass with their M3's (two red and one yellow e36's) with their intakes. My stang humbled ALL 3 of them in the same night by about 4 cars. Now the e46's arent soemthin to play around with.....
