My friend (whos dad is also a cop) lived next door to a cop and his son is a cop , we were playin around w/ his riot gear and lighting flares in the street. it was pretty sick. their search lights hit airplanes. cop cars have a a "secret clutch" where a regular clutch in a car would be , he said if we could start his car we could drive it , he was b s 'n , but we got it started ... after that , just messin around we raced the cop car ( newer crown vic) in his 9? - 0? contour svt. we got SMOKED. good shyt tho , he hit the flashers and went through the next red light , die'n laughing

 

they have 317hp 330tq and weigh 3600lbs. they are NOT "stupid fast", though they accomplish their goal of keeping people from running away quite well.

^that info was according to the CHP booth at the california state fair last august. they weigh extra because of the trunking radio system and extra equipment.

 

The top end on those cars not governed. They drive as fast as they want whenever they want so yeah, they are stupid fast. The Ls1 in those cars are 350hp/360torque at the crank. Ive seen one blast past me at aroud 145mph est. I was doing 110 and the guy flew by me. The only reason I didn't get stopped was because he was responding to an accident.

not doubting those #s, just saying that officially as of last august, the CHP ls1 camaros had "317hp/330tq at the crank, and weighed in at approximately 3600lbs" according to the plaque and the officer at the station. you are correct on the no governor. the regular cars are governed at 128mph, and the bikes im not sure. this is CHP exclusively though. they may have gotten a boost in power, who knows.

i hate those buggers though because they are all white with "CHP" on the side of them, so you don't know what hit you until its too late! ive had a close call or two as well, though not goin 110! haha

 

I have seen more than a few cop cars with nitrous.

 

crown vics top out at 127, just so u kno, lol u can race him and when he looses and tries to pull u over just keep goin and he wont be able to keep up

Damn right. Although probably not applicable here. Once they have your lisence plate info you are done. I have always wanted to do the James Bond lisence plate changer in the trunk for when I run from the cops.[8D]
