wow, we're getting over ran by classics! stang 6 cylinder vs any modern v8 mustang the v8 wins, acceleration and top speed... nothing against classics but. it's never good to bring up the same car with a different engine and talk ****... just like the nowaday v6 mustangs lol...

 

i know the v8 wins. i never once said i won just that i caught him in harmless fun. without my classic 6 and the engines before it you wouldnt be driving your v8

All we are saying is that your 6 did NOT catch a supercharged v8 on the top end. The v8 has more power through the entire power band than your 6. We are raising the bs flag b/c you said you were catching him, which isn't possible unless he let off.
As for the classics, no one is bashing the classics. I have a 68 and a 96 and I know for sure that the newer cars are just plain faster and it will take some serious mods to make a classic 289 or 302 outrun a 05 or something like that. 05's are running mid 13's completely stock and most 289's I have seen don't break 14's. I am not bashing classics or anything either b/c they are awesome in their own right.
It would take at least a 351 or stroked 298/302 to beat the newer cars.

Then I'm sorry but this is one of the most retarded threads ever. What was the point of saying I was catching up to an 01 mustang who had let off the gas? That has nothing to do with your question of whether or not our cars are faster on the top end or not.

I was catching up to C6 Vette's car.....(many posts later) oh yeah but he had already let off.
Am I the only who doesn't understand the reasoning behind this?

 

I think people (v6 guys, classic guys, etc.) should stop pretending that my car and every other non-base model mustang owes it's existence to them. talk about trying to take credit where none is due. just stop pretending your car is the stepping-stone for every other mustang to exist and all will be well.
