I hope none of you think I'm bashing the classics. I like them as much as anyone, I just don't believe for a minute that a car like mine wouldn't exist if a 1964 1/2 stang wasn't around.

how classic exactly do you think it is??

they invented cars in the 1800's, not 1964.

I think you are both right in a sense. Redass is right(can't believe I said that lol) b/c there would be a rwd v8 2 door car even if the mustang never came to be, but 6mustang6 is right in the sense that the new models probably wouldn't have the styling, legacy, and such without the classics.
You both have good points but I don't think there is one clear cut way to look at it.

Styling NO, There is only so many ways to build a 8cyl coupe. Your right about legacy (sales are strong and will continue to be strong because of the "Mustang mystique"). Camaro fans can thank the Mustang for their cars. As for the Vette its been around a long time, about 11 years before the Stang and if they turned it into a 4 seater it would mean certain death for the Vette. But as for the Stang same goes with the Vette. If there was no Corvette ever developed , I doubt that another automaker would'nt come up with the Idea sooner or later. Was'nt the original T-Bird's two door two seater V8 coupes?

The Mustang II makes me cry, sometimes I slap my 65, ITS YOUR FAULT DAMNIT YOUR FAULT! Good points about the RWD 8cyl 2 door.

Wow! You're certainly on the ball aren't you?
And BTW get it right. The 66 had an inline 6 not a V6. It just ***** me when people can't get it right! NOT ALL 6 CYLINDER MOTORS ARE "V" CONFIGURATION!
