Supercharged ETs
I think you're gonna spend a small fortune to make the car race ready and actually have it run quickly. Talk to 2000GT4.6, he just did something similar, although he's full-bolt'ons/supercharger/tranny swap/cam'ed...and he's make a little over 400 rwhp.
You're gonna need the supporting mods to make any decent numbers. I would give you my personal advice on getting an 11 or 12 second car for less than $10k in mods, but most guys here wouldn't wanna hear it.

does your friend have a AMAZING 8th mile trap speed? i dont think that im anywhere near 400whp, and im in the 7.90s, and i think that im probably heavier than a new edge GT
Hey ROTM- I actually can't say what the GT will run as of right now as i'm back in CO and race in Kansas when I go back to school...so in about 2-3 months i'll have a for sure answer on the exact time. I estimate mid to low 12s from the 50+ runs I made in my old mach which ran very consistant 13.2s-13.4s at 104-105mph. So hopefully my guestimation is close
Ramrod....I'm not going to sugarcoat it- I have a lot more than just the intercooled Procharger on the GT to aim for low 12s. My complete performance mod list is:
Procharger P1-SC W/ 2 core intercooler
Diablo MAFIA
SVT Focus fuel pump
NGK TR6s
Diablosport tune/chip
BBK equal length headers
Bassanni o/r X
Magnaflow cat back
Granatelli U/L control arms
MM subframe connectors
Bilstein s/s
Eibach pro kit spring
Accufab 75mm t/b
C&L Plenum
Steeda intake spacer
MGW short throw
AEM wideband
Autometer boost /intake temp gauge
Nitto 315 Drag Radials
-Its currently in the shop for 31 spline moser axles, 31spline Ford Trac Lok, 3.73 gears and T/A girdle.
So when its all said and done- like many have said it will just depend on how much power and how fast you are looking to run. I think for the money if you are looking for a fun car that will woop up on the average stock LS1 or newer GT a basic procharger kit with accompanied safety mods (fuel pump, injectors, tune, MAF) is by far the most cost efficient and best bang for the buck route (besides Nitrous). Just a 8psi intercooled kit will put you in the 360-370+rwhp range for 2-3K off ebay. thats my .02!

machwon...jus curious why you prefer procharger over vortech?
i had decided before that if i got a supercharger i would get vortech...but i live in florida and like the idea of the intercooler due to the heat/humidity...plus its bad *** lol.
i know procharger has self contained oil in the supercharger itself...do you have to change this oil? is it difficult? expensive? i know with vortech it taps into the oil pan...so when you change your engine oil you change your supercharger oil. also one of the cons i heard was that this self contained unit leaks...any truth to this in anything anybody has heard?

Well I think Vortech has some great kits as well. Most of the reasons you just listed were the reasons I went procharger. The Front mount air to air intercooler (2 or 3 core) is a great item to have wheras an aftercooler unit from vortec-while just as or more efficient doesn't always come standard, and the kits with them tend to be more expensive. Not having to tap into my oil pan was also a big relief and I have no leaking issues with my procharger- but have heard of leaking head units before...although I think it is a universal (vortech, paxton, ATI, powerdyne, etc) problem to some extent. You only have to change the s/c oil every 6,000 miles and its not that hard at all just A large drain plug and filler hole. I think both kits are great but I was able to find a great ebay deal on a barely used P1-sc so I went for it- and don't regret it one bit! Coming from a person that has added every bolt on imaginable to a mach 1 and GT, owned a nitrous car, and now a boosted car I can tell you that to me s/c boost is by far the most fun, it went A LOT further than bolt ons did and never runs low or out like Nitrous.
I just ordered my Procharger Stage II last week.. I don't know what the 1/4 time will be but I'm shooting for 450 RWHP.. If I ever run it at the track I will post it..
I thought about it LONG AND HARD to decide on the right supercharger for me.. I decided on a Procharger for a number of reasons..
1) They seem to have done their research and development to build a great product..
2) I like the sound of them..
3) They come with a polished unit so I didn't have to 'pay extra'..
4) I liked the idea of the air to air intercooler coming stock with the package..
5) I've heard nothing about good things when it comes to their fit & finish parts for the install..
I was going to go w/ Vortech but I didn't like the idea of relocating my battery to the trunk for the air to water intercooler.. Also, if I wanted to go w/ an air to air intercooler I'd have to get one from Paxton and now I'd be mix and matching parts to get it to work..
Thats just why I chose Procharger and spent $4,900...
