Not enough power

Only? You say that like it's a bad thing!
I know, I know, there is much more potential to be had with the KB. And good catch on the suspenion thing C6Vette!
So, it sounds like you have it all in the bag now. Good luck!

I fixed my last post and added suspension. And to be honest with you, with a basically stock GT with a 1.7KB S/C, I think I'll only see about 350rwhp.

+1
Personally I would do a suspention upgrade because you will find it alot easier to get traction. 400hp+ can turn out to be a pain in the *** when launching with a standard GT suspention.

If you want power, you need more fuel to go with that extra air. A large fuel pump and 42lbs+ injectors would do the trick. Thats the bare minimum of what you need for F/I

I know of some people with just exhaust and S/C and thats it. All the things I need come with the S/C just to bolt on, I'd just need to get gauges, and a tune.

don't get down 01... I've had plenty of that... just last week a SN cobra did that to me by 1st he was at my rear bumper and he missed 2nd so I put a half a car on him and then he blew by me like he picked up 300 HP and put about 4 cars on me within about 5 seconds...
one think to keep in mind, when you get that KB and start putting major numbers down your auto will be better than a manual with a tune (in most cases)... seems like the more power that get's put down on a manual the more driver mod's fault
launching won't be a science either
get that KB and you will be good to go IMO [sm=smiley20.gif]

If you're accurate that you'll be getting 350rwhp I see high 12's. Which should be enough to handle anything (stock) with the exception of ZO6 or C6 Vettes, Vipers, Shelby GT500, and Terminators. Stock F-bodys, most C5's and any GT should get handled.

I'm trying not to get down, I just dont want to keep being victim of cars I know I should be beating. Then I own a nice car, nice new house and cant afford mods for the ride. Its ok, because the credit cards are on their way to being paid off and I soon I will be promoted and making about $500 extra a month. If I can remember right, a guy with just a 1.7KB with exhaust and tune ran a 12.9 I believe in the 1/4. Which he was manual, so hopefully a 13.1 or so wouldnt be bad. But then I could atleast keep up with LS1's and shock the **** out of them.

I'm not saying exactly 350rwhp, but pretty close. You figure with exhaust and a tune only, I might see 235-240 at the wheels. Then you add the 1.7 KB, which might give about a 40% increase, than you get about 330rwhp. Which like I said, if I run about 13.2 or better I would be happy, because theres only about 10% of cars on the streets that run faster. So I would be happy with about 330rwhp and 13.2 in the 1/4.
LOL you will be way suprised then if you plan on doing 13.2.... I definitly see you breaking 12's, espessially if you widen your stock rims and get a good set of BFG's with the suspension work.... I do 13.7 N/A and I know a 1.7 is good for more than 5 tenths
I found #'s for a stock 2v with a 1.7 KB (non-intercooled) at 6 psi.

Go there and the first dyno chart they show is for a stock 2v. I would say I was right on par, because they have 351rwhp with this kit, but if you look at their stock rwhp, it is at 245. So you figure about 20rwhp less, than 330 is about right. But then you figure my o/r h-pipe and hopefully by then I'll have SLP LM1's, so I guess about 340rwhp. 340rwhp makes 01SilverGT = HAPPY.
So I dont have to start a new thread, does my 01 GT have the 8.8" rear end? I was lookin at gears and wanted to make sure I needed the gears for the 8.8" rear end. Thanks
