I'm gonna say pretty slow. He actually probably slowed his car down by doing that. If your gonna do a single turbo conversion they usually run 25+ PSI. If he's still only running 15/16 PSI he should have just left it as a Twin. He has more lag now and is running the stock PSI or just slightly more than stock. Either he's lying to you about the PSI or he's not really sure of why people convert to a single turbo.

 

Supra's are dyno queens, I think you'll get him.

 

this is confusing me. a buddy of mines uncle has a supra. single turbo with mods. they say he is a constant mid 11 sec on 400 horses. this is a other thing. where i live , u break 11s in the 1/4 u need a roll cage. this supra had no roll cage but is a constant mid 11 sec car. Does that same rule apply where u guys live?

 

the supra that i know very well, it sits in my driveay every day... made 585 h.p on a hot engine through a th400 tranny and at 18 psi... on et streets went 10.85 @135 mph...

 

That's an NHRA rule. If he runs that they'll kick him off the track. But he can just come back another night and run it again. Then get kicked off.

 

What gearing do you have in it? What is your torque? That seems awfully fast for a car that doesn't obtain it's potent power until the top of third. If a lighter car with 585 rwhp can't make it down the track in a 10 sec run then I find it a little hard to believe yours did. But then again, anything can happen

What year is the supra...Did it come stock with a turbo and he upgraded or was it n/a then turbo'd

 

Anything happen with this yet? This is the second post you wrote about this Supra parked across the street from you in some flee bag motel parking lot. If it makes 15 psi and has cams and gears, it sounds like an 11.20 to 11.50 car. It will make most of it's power low mid to high mid end. I think you can take him up top. Your making the same power as me. It will be close. I once ran a Supra making 16psi from a 50 mph roll. I overcame him at 90 mph. He gave up at 120mph -- I had 2 cars on him at that point.

I bet my money on you if it is a fair race. You are an experience driver and that will give you and edge. What ever you do, don't race him from a run (allowing him hit on the throttle 2 cars behind you and build up momentum before you can react). He will torch you.

Do you have an Anderson Power Pipe? If not, get one. They are cheap $249 and will give you at least 1 to 1 1/2 psi -- 12 to 18 whp.
