Does anyone know what a supra making 15/16 PSI on a single with a pretty good front mount intercooler and full exhaust (stock engine w/ cam gears) should make horsepower wise? 1/4 mile time?

Its my neighboors car, I just talked to him for the second time today. The car seems pretty bad ***, and he seems like a cool guy. I asked him to take me for a ride sometime, but I would really like to do a little video racing. Only thing is, I don't want to if its gonna be a total rape, I dunno if I could take it

 

with your mods it shouldn't be that bad I don't think./..... what PSI are you running out of the mongoose?

 

supras are fast stock...so...i dunno

 

My former boss at my old job bought a brand new 1993 Turbo Supra and they rated them at 330hp. Not bad by 1993 Standards

 

9.5~ PSI.

He was talking like 650~ whp? If he is making 650~ whp it should be way to much for me to handle at 415 or so....

if you have some stickies it should be a pretty exciting race through 1st and 2nd but if he is putting down that much after third is when it might get ugly lol

 

650 is very doable on a single with 15 psi. The trick for him is if it can hook. If he has a sticky tire, forget it man, he's an easy 10 second car. If however, he is like alot of Supra guys and runs a 18 or 19 inch rim and a regular tire, you should have him from a dig. This race sounds like one my buddy Troy did a few years ago. At the time his Stang was making about 350 rwhp and the Supra was well over 550 rwhp. We ran from a dig three times, first we got a small spot, we won. Then we went heads up and we one. Last we gave them a small spot and we still won. This car had the power but could not hook due to a big rim and a hard tire.

 

I know a guy that has a 93 Supra w/ a single 68 mm turbo. It has a few other mods but it dynoed at 485whp on the low boost setting.

 

Well, he said the car is fuxored right now, says the ECU is in limp mode (but no light for some reason). I am gonna have to set something up and just find out I guess.

Depends on what size turbo, there was a dumbas* kid around here that put a single turbo on and only dynoed 330rwhp!!! you can get more than that out of the stock twins!!! my friends supra made like 790 @ somewhere like 28-30+ PSI on race gas with a T76 It all depends on the turbo and tune man..
