one thing i don't like about forums is: everyone thinks there car is a lot faster than what it is. for ex: my friend brian (tysho) has a 89 sho, stripped out, bbb's, udp's, catless y pipe, and a short shifter. he thought he would kill my mustang, at the time i just had an off road h. me knowing what sho owners always say etc. i thought he'd kill me. well i had 2 passengers and we went from 60-135 140ish. we raced 3 times. i killed him by about 2-4 cars. i took the passengers out, raced again. killed by even more. same with the honda forums, ___, ____ forums etc.

 

Yeah, this guy is a moderator but he keeps at this circular argument. I prove him wrong, but he choses to be stubborn and not believe it. I know SHOs are slower, but he thinks stock for stock, a SHO can "hang" with a GT. Loser

 

I love sho's but a gen one turbo probe coud definatly hang with one, Car and Driver had them listed at a 15.2 1/4 mile time, of course you are lucky if you make it a 1/4 mile in a probe before the damn thing breaks down, not trying to shoot down sho's though I have always wanted one the ultimate sleeper in my opionion

yeah my dad started to mod it and bought stuff from the SHOshop like right as it went down the ****ter so it took him like 6months to get his money back. he sold the sho to get a wrx then he sold that and bought a m3.

 

A stock Manual or Auto GT will wipe up the pavement with a SHO, not even close

 

I agree with you, but the main thing I'm looking for is stock GT times.

 

a stock 5sp can hit a 13.9 on a good day, 14.00-14.1 all day ( i have seen it).............an auto 14.3-14.5 with good conditions.......i ran a 14.4 with mine bone stock.....with bolt ons im at 13.68 right now......like i said a 99-04 GT with 2 fat guys in the back will walk that taurus all day long, dont let ne one try to fool ya

 

There have been taped race that were close, but it was from a Freak SHO that ran a 14.3 with just a catless y-pipe. They are normally in the 15.2-15.4 range. So your 2002 is auto?
