Ya you guys are right about the stock specs, 6-7psi with about 170hp is what he said it came with from the factory. 18-20psi is a ridiculous amount of boost, but like you said, it is a 1.8, which is why its a hard question to answer. The funn part is that my answers from people i know in real life are pretty much the same as the ones in here.. "Hell no, ahaha hell no, maybe, ya you'll beat him".. LOL. Ill just race him for fun i guess, or wait till i get gears and DR's at least. O, and he said he hits boost at 3700. Thanks for all the help.

Hey guys, my cars in sig, and i had a quick question. My buddy wants to bet me $300 that i will lose a race to one of our other friends that has a 2004 Audi 1.8T Quattro. Its chipped somewhere between 18-20 PSI of boost, lowered, and straight piped. He blew out his orignal clutch shifting from 6th to 3rd on the freeway a few months ago, and now he doesnt even want to race anybody from a stop because hes scared to launch it. So, from a first gear roll at 15-20, or a 40 roll in 2nd, who should win? If my current mods arent enough, would gears and DR's get me there? What else would i need? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I know i only gained 5-8 rwhp maybe from the exhaust, so im pretty close to stock. Also, assume that my driving is very good.

yea, racing for $300 i would do my research too, but for $30, who gives a flying f**k! Race him and find out, that is why(most of the time) you race people right? To see whether you can win?

actually my buddy has an 02 vw golf gti 1.8t. he has full 3" exhaust intake chip and boost up to 20 psi. he was at my back bumper from a roll. running 18-20 psi seems like alot but on the 1.8t the turbo are so small its like running 8psi on a t3-t4. your basically stock so im gonna lean towards the audi. just race and find out. oh yea if you race go from a dig, then you will prolly win because they suck off the line, but when they get going they are fast

i got a '92 GT, with flowmaster catback, bbk cold-air kit, flex fan, and a Pro 5.0 shifter. b4 i did the tune up, i raced 1) an Audi TT and 2) a Pontiac GTP. both at the same time. from a light. i beat both of 'em. u should have NO problems against this guy. granted, the TT couldve been stock, but, still. i only have 225hp stock, where u have 260hp stock. i MIGHT be 240hp the way it sits now.....MIGHT. either way, i think u got this. good luck. let us know what happens
