Default Funny old guy

I took the Cobra out for a drive Friday night.

Really nice night out, cruising around with the windows down, a little music playing and just enjoying it all. I wasn't out looking for any trouble really.

I'm sitting at a light and hear a quick rev behind me, looked back and it's a silver Fox body GT.

Light turns green and I take off normally. Get about a mile up the road and it splits into a 4 lane divided highway. I saw his front bumper dive when he switched lanes downshifting... he floored it and started to come up along side me and I dropped down to 2nd and floored it. He never even made it to my bumper before I opened up a ridiculous amount of lengths on him.

We hit the next light & he pulls up besides me, I look over and it's an older guy, looking like he's in his late 40's with his pretty hot daughter besides him. I figured I'd get no love, since 99% of other Mustang owners won't even look over at a light and acknowledge another Mustang... He rolls down the window and looked pretty floored "Wow....just....wow....that was amazing" I said thanks and the light turned green and we took off.

I put so many cars on him by the end of 2nd gear it'd be pointless to estimate. We hit the next set of lights & he pulls up again "Thats...wow......that's just beautiful man. It was sweet to watch and listen to that thing...just...thanks man, thanks."

So yeah, I was almost creeped out haha. I got a kick out of it though, it was pretty funny watching this guy just drool like I had an 18 year old girl's **** strapped to my rear bumper or something. His Fox was damn clean, looked like it had fresh paint on it. Didn't appear to have any orange peel on it at all, it was done right for sure. [8D]

the guy must not have known it was a cobra, either that or he just wanted to get his *** kicked.

is that really as bad in the US?

here it's just the opposite way. I ran into couple of Stangers at lights, parking lots and it always was nice little chat. PLus on the state roads when you see fellow Stang in opposite direction it is a must that you greet him with high beams or even horn and vice versa. I guess its mayabe because we dont have so much ponnies running around here.

There is a lot of Mustang clubs, so I'm sure it just varies by the area. But I can honestly say even my friends with Mustangs aren't willing to acknowledge my car, not that I want them to because I could careless, but there's major Mustang envy around here.

The amount of V6'ers that will ride my bumper and pull out & fly by me is ridiculous. I bet I could sit here and tell about 10 stories of V6 fly-by's since summer started. Pretty much every GT I've come across in town will rev the **** out of their engine, even if I'm at the light next to them, I'll sit there with my window down lookking over and they will keep theirs up and look straight ahead.

I raced a guy in a supercharged Fox and put a pretty good hurting on him, we hit a long red light and he sat there, window up and I was only trying to say it was a sweet car...because it looked damn good. So yeah, I was damn floored when this older guy was in awe and had something nice to say.

Now people in any car besides a Mustang will follow me to where I'm going, pull up next to me, pull up behind me and hang halfway out the car to say how much they like it or how much HP it has. [8D]
