It might be somewhat of a "joke", but I'm sure the NSX will keep running like a champ after running it hard for years. Its history is pretty good when it comes to reliability. Also, it handles well. Of course, it's no Porsche Carrera which are hands down my favorite cars.

Umm, my $20,000 SRT-4 when it had minor (less than $1000 worth) of bolt on's absolutly blows the doors off the local NSX. Not that it's a big deal, most of the decent cars around here do. As far as weight, my SRT weighs <2900 lbs, and it has 4 doors. The Stang weighs 3500 pounds and it's considered a pig. So the 3100 pound NSX is heavy if you ask me. And the price is a joke. At the time Vipers could be had for <$60,000, with better looks and obvious performance advantages to the $80,000 NSX. The NSX was, and still is, a bad joke.
Thank you for speaking your opinion, that is yours and I posted mine. And I also posted some facts for you. 2900lbs for your SRT-4, to me thats a pig compared to my Celica GTS, that only weighs 2500lbs, but your right 3100lbs would be alot if you drive something that weighs a couple hundred pounds less. NSX's can be had for under $50,000 used, which is a sh*t load of money and your right about buying something else thats faster and cheaper. What did you buy for under $1,000, besides Nitrous, that lowered your SRT-4 into the 12 second 1/4 mile range? If it was that easy get into the 12's, why arent all SRT-4's in the 12's. And I could go buy me a fox body for $4,000 and put about $2,000 in it and run 11's all day long, but thats just the route I would rather take. Like I said, this is just my opinion and its just your opinion about the NSX.
Adjustable waste gate, ported turbo, DtecFC, fuel return line, bigger injectors. By the time I sold my stock parts, the price for the mods was under $1000.

There is just no way I would ever pay the amount of cash they want for an NSX when a Viper could be had for less money. Alot less money.

And I don't think those mods get me into 12's, lol. I don't think the local NSX runs 12's, like I said, it gets beat by alot of cars around here!!!!!

Maybe the local NSX is the base model with only like 250hp and an automatic. I believe it was a 98, with a manual and 290hp, and it ran 12.9 stock in the 1/4 mile.
I figured the parts you bought for your SRT-4 would cost alot more than $1,000, but I guess if you sold your stock parts than you got some money back. Just out of curiousity, who would want stock parts?

Well, the stock turbo was an easy sell. Lots of DSM turbo guys want them as upgrades. I actually sold my turbo, intercooler, throttle body, and wastegate to a person at work with a Talon, lol. The injectors are an easy sell to the 03 SRT guys, as 05 injectors are actually Stage 1 injectors for the 03-04 cars.

Must be nice to sell some stock parts to others for profit, LOL. Attn: Any v6 owners from 99-01 that are interested in my stock GT air filter, I'm willing to sell for $200.00 and it adds approximately 15rwhp, and you also can buy my stock t/b and plenum, and I'm willing to let both go for $500.00 which is a great deal IMO, estimated hp increase, 25rwhp. LOL, gotta love it.

And I actually bought an ACR becuase I wanted the seats, knowing full well I would strip the wheel/tire package, along with the Tokico 5 way adjustable shocks. The package only added like $900 to the price of the car, and I got $600 for the rims and tires, and $650 for the suspension set up, so basically I got the 5 point harness seats for free, and made $350. Of course, that $350 didn't go far when they were replaced with S3 coilovers w/camber adjustment and Motegi LC5's with BFG DR's on the front, lol!!!
