Maybe so 04, but the Lightning is going to get very very consistent times because they only come with an automatic. He however just might miss a shift every now and then....but then again I'm assuming he has a manual.

Default RE: 01' GT vs. 03' Lightning

During the winter time, I went to the track, staged up against an 03 Mach I, we had talked a little, and he said he'd give me a one second head start and he knew he'd blow by me. According to R/T's, I had a .530 r/t he had a 1.601 r/t, so almost 1.1 seconds head start, get to the booth, and I had beat him by .3 seconds, so all in all, when I ran a 14.2 on that run, he ran a 13.9. Sure his ET was better than mine, so technically he beat me, but I triggered the light .

And just because a car site shows 13.8 for the 01 Lightning, doesn't mean everybody is going to run that. Maybe they don't do a good burnout, or none at all, and when the tree drops, possibly they just WOT and hope for the wheels to grip.

But yes, in FL people seem to run better times.

OK I will say this one time, because I see it on many threads here. UNLESS you are on a DR or Slick DO NOT DO A BURN OUT!! Your tires will get greasy and your times will suffer. On a street tire all you need to do is short little hop to clean the dust off. Oh yea drive around the water box.

My brothers Mopar broke at half track last friday and he did a 12.2 at 58 MPH. So much for et's and trap speeds. He normally runs 9.65 @140.
