A RX7 (same year/shape as Vin Diesels in fast and furious) whipped by me yesterday nite and then slowed down right next to me. So we slowed down to 50mph and ran. I dropped from 5th to third and turned off the A/C. He punched it about a second before me. He instantly pulled a car on me and slowly put two cars on me by the top of 4th. My stupid car was detonating like crazy at the top end rpm's in 3rd and 4th because of this new ethanol bull****e. Its hating the 100 degree weather and ethanol. The worst part was he has it on video.

It sucks to get beat by a rotary. I would assume he had to be turboed because i didnt think that the stock rotary's were that quick. I wish i had my vortech on my car instead of sitting on the shelf in my garage. But hopefully when i can afford the install in a month I run into him again for a rematch.

 

That sucks, I raced a 5.0 that had a Vortech on it and he beat me pretty badly when I had just bought my Vortech, it was literally sitting on the back seat, I couldnt wait to get it installed after that but I havent seen that 5.0 again[:@]

 

all the RX7's of that body style are TT AKA FD..my friends with full 3in and intake ran a 12.8@108 or something like that!!! they are fast cars...

 

Holy crap, i didnt know that. No wonder i got owned. My best run was a 13.6 with crappy 60ft times and street tires and stock gears. Since then i have LCA's and some fatter tires and 3.73's, so i was thinking i would be in the lower 13's now.

 

The Rx-7 is not to be confused with the RX-8 (completely different class). The RX-7 back in the mid 90's where on par with 300ZX TT, Supra's, Vettes.

 

Wow.. i was always under the impression the RX7's were slow... 12.8 aint bad... [:-]

 

they were low 14/high 13 cars stock i believe...but turbo with a stout motor, so mods flowed fairly well and in similar success to supras to a degree

 

Those cars made 240hp and weighed under 3000 pounds stock. They would respond to the usual turbo upgrades pretty easily. I can see you losing to an RX-7 no shame in that. Their doesn't seam to be many around here, I'd like to try my luck against one!
