racing Corvettes
I'm fixing to have my engine back together on my car, and look foward to do some rice burner hunting, and maybe even suck the headlights out of a few Corvettes.
Now, I know this car will smoke a C5 Corvette, but I've heard those Z06 Corvettes are scary fast.
My question is, how do you tell the difference betweent the two???

Yea and they are fixed roof or FRC for short, they also say Z06 on the fender. Your better be packing a mean punch if plan on taking out the C5's. Also the C6 will be out soon and they are wicked, almost the power of a current Z06, the next Z06(due out in 2006) is rumored to be in the 485-500 hp area.

Whats the fender badge on the 00 Z06 say? does it say Z06 385 hp?
I know 03 plus Z06s say "Z06405hp" on the fenders, special Z06 rims, a black rear brake duct behind the driver door (at least thats what I think it is) and they only come with a 6 sp manual.

The badge on a 2000 doesn't say anything. The Z06 came out in 2001. But I see where you're going with this. I'm not sure what they say. I think they just say Z06.
They all have the brake duct behind the doors, and they all have the Z06 wheels. You're thinking of the 1999-2000 Hardtop. That was just a regular Corvette with a Hardtop. It was supposed to be a cheaper Corvette, but it didn't sell very well, so they made the Z06 out of it in 2001.

I don think I can hang wit a C5 yet, but I raced a C4 the other day and I dusted his *** off pretty well and as he did the infamous "Ricer flyby" he threw up a rock and it hit my windsheild and now I have a little ding in the bottom driverside corner. [:@] But I still smoked his @$$!

Sorry I couldn't remember the year the Z06 came out, it was 01 now that I looked it up, not 00. (musta been thinking about the 00 R vs 01 Z06 vs 01 Viper ACR shootout video)
I meant the difference between a C5 LS1 and a C5 Z06 is the brake duct, fender badging, 6 sp ONLY and Z06 split 5-spoked rims.
Dont forget that the compression ratio in a Z06 is 10.5 and 10.1 in a regular coupe, the rear end in a Z06 is a 3.42 and in a reg coupe its either 2.73, 3.42, or 3.15. And of course we all know the Z06 comes with bigger tires all the way around.
