Can someone tell me where to get one of these magic chips that knock off a second from your quarter mile time???And my second question is why doesn't everyone have one?

I ran one back in early july from a dig and it was a slaughter. By the time I hit 2nd gear i took my foot of of the gas and just coasted. At the next light he pulled up next to me and said that he could have "taken me", but he was worried about the po-lice.
VW's should stick with running other import's and leave the domestic's alone. Unless they have a bunch of mod's they arent much of a challange.

I have raced a few VW's that my friends own... and even after all there fancy chips and turbo work... i still beat them. I did lose to a SRT-4 however.. but he had a good bit of work and i know for a fact that he was holding 19lbs of boost. I drove it and its a quick little skittile... but still feels like im driving a neon... lol

Actually I'm not surprised. This is common with mildly turbocharged engines. I remember when VW came out with the 1.8 T in the Passat, 1998 I think, an autothority chip or ecu swap easily knocked a second off 0-60 times. Car & Driver put one in their long term Passat and were impressed.

the new GTi's are nice highway cars. From a dig you'll probably take it but don't be surprised if it hangs with you or even beats you from a roll (once the turbo starts spooling).

One of my friends has one. Their relatively quick, but stock theyr nothing to be afraid of. They do respond well to mods though.
