So i was on my way to the TBS concert with my buddy. we come along a nice z28, maybe a 98 i dunno. looked like it had exhaust on it. so i get up next to him, (and i dont need any1 tellin me street racing is bad, i no) he floors it, i drop it down into 3rd and smoke him. i was kinda surprised, all i have is CAI and cat-backs, and he was probably a sucky driver or something. But w/e i beat a z28! haha

ok ill admit i was exaggerating when i said i smoked him, but it was almost a car length.
and afterwards he just flew away all pissed off. lol

 

98 Z28's are equipped with LS1's.. They can EASILY rape us like no tomarrow..

You def did not beat a 98-02. In fact, I'd have a hard time believing you beat him even if it was an LT1. Especially since he got the jump. But if you did win, you beat the driver.

well il tell you that my buddy has a 97 LT1 firebird, we havnt raced but im sure he would put two cars on me easy all he has is a CAI and flows. my other friend has a TPI 305 88 transam that really slow. but nice kill

 

if he had an auto ls1, and u had a manual then i think u could beat him, i drove my friends mom's 2000 z28 and it had an auto and i wasnt too impressed my car deffinitly feels quicker

 

It may feel quicker because of the 5 speed, but its not. Go race your friend's mom and see who wins. That's gotta be a tough loss eh?

 

i tried to get her to race me, but she wouldn't. does ne one know the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of an auto ls1

 

I do not know about the autos, but I remember reading several articles about the 98 LS1's cracking off 13.3's in the quarter mile stock. My buddy had one for a bit, and he got a 13.5 out of it stock. (His was a 6spd, BTW) Only reason I did not buy one instead of a mustang was the impossibility of finding one without T-tops.
