Yesterday I was coming back from a job interview and came across a 98 model eclipse. He drove up on me and I gave it a little gas to see if he wants to go, sure enough he punches it and so do I. He gets a little ahead of me in the right lane just as I miss third. We pull up to a red light and he said "Missed a gear huh?", I said yeah and asked him if it was turboed(forgot what model his was) cause I thought I heard something and wanted to make sure it was the wastegate. He said yeah and I was a little sketchy about racing him but I said "F*ck it, lets see what we got". He agreed and when the light turned green I squeeked the tires a little and I was off. I pulled on him all through my gears, by eighty I had about 5 lenghts on him and shut down as I traffic thickend(?). He gets next to me and I ask if he wants to go again but he declined. I didn't get any attitude from this guy so I said take it easy and left.

From the sounds of it, I don't think it was turbo. Nice kill, its nice to see that some ricers still have class.

 

What do you have done to your car?

 

I heard the noise of a wastegate and I believe it was the model that came with a stock turbo(GST, GSX).

Mods for me are intake, tune, headers, and pipes. I got my short shifter and my T-lok sitting in my closet for over a month. [:@]

 

Seeing as you have a 05+ I would imagine that it was just a stock/slightly modded DSM. Either way nice kill[8D]

 

not neccesarily, with his mods i think he could have put the woop on a gst, not the gsx though. remember the gst was FWD, so launching is out of the question unless they know how to drive. I say good kill man, those gst's can be mean.

 

Either way he wouldve killed it. My Friend had 2 2ndGEN GST's. They are SLOW stock. The GST is a High 14 stock. GSX Mid 14 Stock. But when you Build the motor(u have 2 THe 4g63 they come wif SUCK) then they get pretty fast. But good kill. :-) and it had 2 be a GST or GSX other wise he couldve beat him daily driving...its an Eclipse :-)

 

The second gen eclipe GSwhatevers with the turbo were slower than the first gen...I could see him taking one without his mods

 

Agreed...sounds like jeremy has a mid-low 13 sec car, so that eclipse wasn't stock, good run.
