Turbo Eclipse death
ORIGINAL: exLT1to01GT
Yeah the turbo eclipse has a lot of turbo lag but yeah they can be quick w/ just a few mods and they are pretty light. I was thinking about just getting a stock one to fool around with either to mod or keep it as my "economy" car. Considering I can find a few nicely modded talon TSI's for a fraction of the cost though has got me thinking. I found a lot of 11 second TSI's for like $4000.

I have a 90 awd TSi...and it is a beast compared to the mustang(of course the mustang is stock)
I still have the stock bottom end, but the motor is built, and has made multiple 32psi passes. It is a bitch to launch though, mostly because I bought it with this custom 80 trim turbo, so usually i dont even hit full boost in 1st gear, so it bogs like crazy. But if a DSM is stock or slightly modded, and just has a regular mediocre driver, his v6 would probably take it....I'm not sure about the 5 lengths though, so the one he raced might not have been turboed.

not sure how much Boost he was running, i KNOW it was over 14. hey, he is selling it if yah interested. He bought it fer 1000, used it for a day, now selling it for 500, its fine... we bout 2 put it on ebay. and he has a 2.4l Bottom End if n e one wants.(for u peoples with the DSM's).
Dont get me wrong i loveeedd his GST, nothing like pulling up to A Riced Civic or Even a Mustang and reving the Engine to 2k(cant hear the BOV) and them thinking they are going to take u. :-) Great sleeper!!!! I almost bought one besides the mustang, I mean 16k Cash, 5for the Car, 5 for a Race Motor, 2k for a BIG *** TURBO, yeppp, 10's but its DSM, Dont Speed Money(save it for the Repairs)

I have a 1990 Talon TSi AWD as well and it is very slow compared to my mustang.... even when my mustang was stock, but they can be made verrry fast, and then they are usually good for about 3 passes at the track before they break down
actually, mine is one of the reliable ones i guess. I made a straight 16 hour drive in mine with no problems and about 420 miles to the tank. But i dont trust it enough to make it a daily driver, and thats why I like the mustang better. Even though it's slower, I've seen more guys push more reliable horsepower out of a mustang than a DSM.
