What IS SAD is that ford's 150K+markup supercar cant hang with a Z06 that costs almost half that in anything but a straight line.

but yeah, Z06 is a full second quicker in 1/4 than GT500

Dead even in the 1/4, loses to the Z in the corners and costs 2x as much...pully swap wont fix all that. Why not do a cam swap in the Z? I mean come on, people dont want to spend 150K for a car they have to mod to make faster than its competitors, for that price you should kick all other *** stock out of the box.

I love Corvette's and the Z06 in particular. However, if I won a sweepstakes and the prize was a choice between a Z06 and a Ford GT, I wouldn't be able to blurt out the words, "Ford GT please" fast enough. It would have nothing to do with performance. To me, the Ford GT is a much more desirbale car.

This is a ridiculous argument. So any car that can't turn in 1/4 miles times equal to a Z06 and costs more than $75k is not worth it?

Like someone else said, GT500 vs base C6 would be a good race.
As far as Z06 vs Ford GT goes, if you take sticker price into account than the GT should absolutely destroy the Z06. But it doesn't. C'mon Ford, let's try to combine a great engine with a little less weight and a lot less $$$.
While I may be a bit biased myself, the Shelby GT500 isn't much of a looker. A regular Mustang GT looks better IMO. It is cheaper than the LS7 Vette, though.
