Are you just saying that or are you serious. If that is the case, why haven't I read more about the S281E? Better yet, why are they taking the Ford GT and comparing it to the Z06 when there is a Mustang that is priced like the Z06 that supposedly performs it? All I ever hear about is how the Z06 is by far the most car you can get for the money (and I believe it), but if the S281E performs equaly as well, then I guess you could pin that title on it as well. No?

I've been there and done that. Don't want to go back. I own a 06 S281E and posted a thread on here when I first became a member. I got jumped by the GM Z06 fan boys like a free ***** at an Army camp...forget it.

I'd be really impressed if they got the S281E to handle as well as a Z06. Like stunned, but also very happy that they could get that kind of performance out of a Mustang.

Well, the S281E is a fairly rare car. Less than 150 made per year. Last count I had was 120 this year. 550Hp at the crank and crazy torque..about 550 at the crank and consistent through the RPM range. As far as handling and 1/4 mile comparisons, I know of none. Only speculation, and thus alot of bickering here when mentioned. So I don't. I have not run the car down the 1/4 for reasons I've tried to explain, but these reasons were...lets say...dismissed as invalid among some naysayers. Mainly for insurance reasons. One wrong move at the track and I'm stuck with a huge repair bill. That and insure 9 cars...can't afford a cancellation and prefer no increases. Plus, my wife claims the Saleen and protects it like a newborn. The other mustangs I have better luck claiming.[8D]

I'd love some info in the handling characteristics. I need a reason to buy something besides a Z06. I don't want the same car as my brother (he's getitng a Z), and if the E car can come close to the Z in handling, I'm in. And yeah, PM me the link to the album.

I'd also recommend you spend some time in the special stangs section. There is a friend of mine that lives close to me and frequents some of the local cruise ins. He has a blue E car and a viper. his screen name is Viper/Saleen1 also S281E has an 06. it's interesting to hear what Viper/Saleen has to say about his comparison between the E and his viper.
