This is possible
Tonight I'm on my way to my ladies house in my old 73 Chevy Pickup (left the stang at home cause it looked like rain). I'm driving down I-70 at about 60 or so and a civic si with the biggest exhaust tip I've ever seen pulls up beside. I've got straight pipes to Dynomax mufflers and I could still hear that patented weed eater sound. He drops a gear and pulls, normally I wouldn't do anything in the old Chev but I am just sick and tired of the sh#t I go through on a daily basis with these things. I slammed the 4 speed into third and let her rip to top speed (107 m.p.h.) This punk was seriously devasted by the three car pull I handed him in my 6500 lb. pickup. HE congratulated me with the infamous ricer flyby. Not a real mustang kill, but good to know something like my old chevy can take out things that I waste my time on every day in my stang.

1. this is a mustang site, not a chevy truck site
2. so he drops a gear, pulls and then lets off as you drop it and fly by him. I guess he just wanted to copy you and your ricerflyby.
3. I had some old *** chevy truck drop a gear on me, I dropped to third, hit 60 and vtec and pulled right by him. end of 3rd i had him by i dunno, 4 cars?
There's NO way in hell your truck with a carb/IM/fuel pump and cam pulled on an Si that was trying.

Damn...Chill Moby. That thing could have a 454 in it. (and a lot of those old pick 'em up trucks did) With any amount of work, that thing would chew up the SI and spit it into their spitoon.
I've seen some of these hillrods with old F'd up pick up's that haul ***. It's pretty funny sometimes.

2000Si, don't get all butt hurt because I beat a car like yours in my 73' chevy. I just listed everything I have done to my pickup so you will believe me (as if I need your approval.) Second of all, this sight may be for mustangs (which I own, do you?) but I see sh#t on here all the time about imports and chevys so I don't believe it was out of place. Why don't you let me know where your at, then maybe we can see if an Si really does beat my chevy, heck maybe it could even beat my Cobra.

I was just pointing out obvious and not so obvious stuff, and my experiences with a 350 chevy in an old *** pickup. I'm not butthurt that you beat an Si, because you probably didn't even beat it, just took off after he let off. really, you can't tell it's not a sanctioned 1/4 mile track.... or was that section of I-70 recently closed? I don't think I'd have a hard time reeling you back in if you did get the jump... but I wouldn't even WANT to try your Cobra.

I'm two hours north of Indy, come find me.
Read Street/Strip, that includes Street my friend. I know it isn't a real track race, but c'mon, how many on here are? Just proud of the old pickup, which has been fully restored by the way. I'm in Colorado so it is a little to far to prove my point, but I'm not trying to start a riot just stating what happened.
I was just breaking your ***** about the chill.
Regardless. Why is it so difficult to believe that a '73 pick up with a worked over 350 beat an SI? What are those? 170hp? Something like that?
I think you under estimate the potential of a Chevy small block. It's possibly the most modded engine in the world. They're so easy to make fast, it should be illegal.

Alright, well now that all the arguing is through I guess its time to hit the sack got a long day of detailing and maintenance ahead of me. Guess it is kind of pointless to argue things like this, but since we are so far apart 2000si, you'll just have to believe me when I say that on this day the 350 prevailed, or we can argue some more but I'd rather not.
