OK no i didn't but it was close. i just got my gears instaled two days ago and i picked it up the next day witch was yesterday and i never got on the gas all day just because i wanted to get them broke in, not sure if i have to i was just making sure. But anyways later that day around 1:30 in the morning i was driving home frome my bros and i was going real slow just to see all the cars for sale mostly looking at mustangs when i see the lights of a trans am and i was hoping it was an lt1 not an ls1 and i was caught at a light when he puls up and the guy in the passenger side says did your momy bey that for you and i look over at this guy who looks like a damn bum and say no! and i guss your momy did't buy you a car either and i asked him if he had a car and he said youre lookin at it, then i said o do you share the car and he shut up but i started talking to the driver who was a little cooler and asked him what year it was. By then we were just cruzin down the road side by side. then he said the good words 97 i was like yes he has an lt1 and i know i can pute up a good fight because my bro had a 94 z28 and it was a close race between me and him.

Well he asked to race and we were going about 30mph and i said alright and this being the first time hitting the gas hard with my 3.73s i was exited but then i said go and he took off and i just sat there not hitting the gas, then i catch up to him and he said why didnt you go and i said just wanted to hear your car. so this time were goin about 25mph and he said go and we both punch it i jumped ahead a half a car and then i thought well this is were he catches up but i continued to pull ahead but then we got to about 60 and he started to gain and pulled his bumper on me and we shut down arund 95 i was vary impressed with my car. When i raced my bro i would just hang with him for a little then he would start to pull on me but i did not have my gears in so i guss they helped a little. Thank for reading sorry for the book.

 

you like those gears eh'? i havent run anybody with them so i dont know how they pull. supposedly that is one of the first mods to do so your on the right path. just a little more power and you could be walking lt1's.

 

That's the first I've heard of 3.73s making a big difference. The car pulls better for you now?

 

He'd need a head swap before he could walk any LT1 with a semi-capable driver.

Don't get your hopes up too much. You are still a low 15, very high 14 second car if you are lucky.

 

i noticed that they get me in my power band quicker and stay in it better. And i am auto so i noticed it a little more than someone with a five speed.

 

3.73's will really wake up an auto Stang, trust me! Just wait until you launch from a stop instead of a rolling start.

 

I definitely need gears; these 2.73's make the engine feel like oatmeal, takes forever to get into the power band.
