Default 3000GT

OK I have this freind with a 93' 3000GT (fresh engine, 5spd). He is putting fart cans (not even catbacks) on his car which he claims will give him an extra 20HP.

He says, stock, with only fart cans he can beat me. Keep in mind mine's an auto. What do you all think? Has anyone gone up against a 3000 before?

Is it a VR4 or a SL??? That will make a big difference. The VR4 is a twin turbo AWD car that really moves pretty well but the SL is much slower.

If it's a VR4(300hp TT AWD) you're done. If it's an SL or base smack him around

BTW fart cans do not add power. Your friend is an idiot[:@]

6 spd was 94-99. At that point they raised the boost 2 pounds and were rated at 320hp. This was to compete with the Supra which had 320hp and a 6spd.

I raced a VR-4 theyre pretty quick, the non turbo model is very slow, VR-4 youre toast, no turbo youll win.

i'm a V6 Auto and i was neck and neck with an SL 5speed until he shifted into 3rd...and that was just flooring it at the stop not even launching hard...so that was a 220hp...he removed his mufflers and he had CAI...i was completely stock...and we both had systems in the back

Depends the variation between the SL and vr4 is like a v6 and a cobra.

If I recall, the 3000Gt is a tank, coming in at @3800lbs. At 220hp, they're not going anywhere fast.
