and urs its auto .. if u win its not gonna by much but if he a good driver ur gone.. i have a 93 model base wich is 3219 lbs and i have beaten plenty of 01 gts just to warn you..
If I recall, the 3000Gt is a tank, coming in at @3800lbs. At 220hp, they're not going anywhere fast.
He says, stock, with only fart cans he can beat me. Keep in mind mine's an auto. What do you all think? Has anyone gone up against a 3000 before?

They arent "slow", but if they are stock a mildly modded GT will take them. (the vr-4's that is)
The base 3000gts are slow, my gf's G6 rapes them.

i've raced both the turbo and non turbo 3000gt, and i got my *** handed to me by the twin turbo, and the sl was just plain pathetic...u have nothing to worry about...and all fart cans are good for are launching grapefruits

Base 3/S's are SOHC V6s that put out about 160hp. The 1st gen VR4 puts out 300hp to the flywheel and have a 5 speed transmission, 2nd gen (94-98) have a bit more boost and put out 320hp and have a 6 speed. Weight is fairly high, but then again, they (VR4s)are a luxury GT cruiser, not a street/track car. I much prefer them to drive than most mustangs. With a couple of BPUs (downpipe, gut precats, boost controller and gauge, BOV, CAI, they can get up to 320AWHP pretty easily

My dad had a VR4 back in 1991, and that car was amazingly fast. As mentioned it was only a 5spd (6spd must have come later). My dad never lost a race in that thing. We would race Porsche's, Trans Ams, Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes....you name it and he raced it and won. Those cars are sick fast! They did 0-60 in 5 seconds flat and the 1/4 in a low 13.
The SL is a joke......I annihilated one with my modded Focus ZX3 years back.
