Ive heard that the eclipse's with a stock turbo are slow, my friend with a stock crown vic beat one and he runs about a 15.7 I would say you would have no problem beating him.

 

if its rounded like that its a 2nd gen eclipse, the kinda every girl has. he's got a 5 speed and can drive at all i think he'll take you in a 1/4 mile, then again i havent seen a stock DSM in a while

 

If its stock you should be fine, just pay attention and dont **** around. The 2nd gen dsms are quick but not well built at all, plus he dosent have AWD on his side so he cant launch any better than you, youll be fine...

 

two of my friends have had the 4g63 and that is a hell of a motor. if he has a turbo upgrade (16g) then he will beat you and bad, but that will **** you off enough to put more on your car. trust me i know i hate them f-ing cars cause it doesn't take much money to get a fast car. but i always used to tell them there is no replacement for displacement. now they both have mustangs.

 

Not to be a *****, but what does your car have under the hood? The only "power adder" you have is a CAI and exhaust. And that's really not much at all... not enough to be called a power adder anyway. You have a good set of gears too, but that's not adding any HP, only helping acceleration. Granted, it helps a lot, but still... You have a nice car and anice foudnation, but you don't really have anything under the hood. I figure with the CAI and exhaust opened up a little, and with the age of the engine and the AOD you're probably pushing 190 or so RWHP.

Like i said, not to be a *****, but you have a lot of things that can be done under the hood.

i know i gotta lot that can be done..the mileage on my stang is 130k ..it still runs great...im not hard on it......but yeah i think it would be a close race with that eclipse im talkin about...i know i'd beat him off the line..cuz a different one of my friends has a crappy cavaler that beat him off the line..lol and ill probably get some U/d pulleys soon and electric fan and shorter belt so i can completely remove my smog pump. im only 16 ...and i have no job..so i cant afford much at the moment...parents dont want me to get a job till after winter.

 

The only diffrence between a the police car and the car my grandma drives is all in the tune and ya the socks and i dont know about the "a 440 cubic inch plant" its just like the motor you would find in any 96-98 non-pi 4.6L. the cops hardly touched the motor, they just changed things for a longer life for the car, aka: tranny cooler, bigger radiator, and just stuff like that.

I wasn't dumping on ya at all. You've got a real nice setup there. Definately something to be proud of...it's a good foundation for future work. Hell I wish I had a setup like yours when I was 16! Don't worry, you'll get there. Just takes time, hard work, and money

You'll definately take him off the line just because you got so much damned torque there. I'm just thinking that once that turbo spools up, he's gonna take you on the top end.
