looks like Ford has been listening. The 08 Camaro and upcoming Challenger may not be the most powerful pushrod production cars after all.

Damn. It's abou time!

It seems the last several years Ford has fallen behind in the horsepower wars wtih the Big Three.

That Boss Mustang would be badass if it made it to production.

Ya know...Ford is resurrecting all these Mustang monikers like boss and the GT350-H. How about bringing back the 427 Cobra Jet in an 07 or 08 Stang?

Maybe by that time the V6 mustang will put out close to 285 hp.

That would be ****...along with the 427.

I understand a Boss 302 will be the first to utilize this new motor. The block is supposed to be made of a new high-strength alloy composition with 4-bolt mains and forged internals. The rumor mill suggests a higher c.i. motor based on this block will follow. A Boss 429 would be great.

I believe the new "Boss" engine is a renamed "Hurricane" engine that is Modular based(not an OHV design), it'll start at 5 litres(for normal GTs) and go to 5.4L (for special edition Mustangs) and up to 6.2L(for trucks)........

"Hurricane" engine? hmph. I hope they don't change the name to that...they should just keep it as "Boss" or something badass.

You could be right. I know the hurricane project was going to be canned and then it was not. I was told by an inside source that these engines would be pushrod/OHV, but maybe not. The 5.4L already exists, of course in the trucks in 2V form and in the GT and GT500 with 4V heads. I have not seen pics from the SEMA introduction.

Actually I think what 05gtdriver was saying was that the "hurricane" ford project code name has now been introduced as the new "Boss" engines.
