Radar detectors?
i have a escort 8500 it works wonderfull. Gets all the signals K, Ka, X, and Laser. It is upgradable through escort or it might even be passport. But, i lucked out on this one because i found it open box at american(local store) i used to work there so they gave me an amazing deal 100 bucks for a $400 detector because it was missing the sticky things which i ordered for free from the company. It has saved me countless times but, i do not trust it at night because cops just wait till they see your headlights and then your screwed anyways.
ive got a cobra. it was the closest thing at best buy to a passport, which i didnt have the funds for at the time.(cobra=220+, passport=320).def have pop on. its aved me several times. be ready for false alarms. but its great.

I did a little research on radar detectors last night because of a ticket I got on the interstate yesterday (and no, it wasn't in my fast car lol =/) I used to drive 24/7 with a detector in my old WRX and I'm surprised I've gone this long without one.
For me, immunity to radar detector detectors (RDD) is extremely important because detectors are illegal here in VA. I used to use a really nice small, lightweight, wireless, undetectable detector called the PNI Silver Bullet. It worked pretty well, the range wasn't huge, but it saved my butt countless times. I found mine on Ebay for like 80 bucks or something.

Since then I know that technology has changed, so I did a little more research and this looks like the new kid on the block:

It's a little pricey, but it's the only detector that has full immunity to all RDDs because it's enclosed in a magnesium case so that it doesn't leak any signals. The detection range is supposed to be huge too. I'll probably pick this one up soon, use it on my daily driver, then I'm resolved to use it and an integrated 360* laser jammer on my next sports car.
