While racing of all things, another Z06(C5) on a empty 15 fwy I went up to 187mph In 5th@5600rpm. I still had a few more rpms to go(7000) in fith and I still had another gear. But I shut it down. At that point the other Z06 was a distant memory. I will hit 200 soner or later....
187 in a stock Z06

little slow for it.....c6 z06 tops out at 198......nothing that my pony cant handle[8D]

For insurance purposes GM says that it tops out at 198. Which is complete BS. A few guys have taken theirs over 200. But thats not something that you can just go around bragging about.

in my old cobra, probably 140's.. in this? 110. 5th is worthless for doing anything but holding speed. Larger tires + gears on a T45 limits me a lot on the high end.. but damn she'll get there quick [8D]

had an oldass infiniti try to pass me on a double solid for no reason. i was goin 10 over the limit and this fool tries to cut me off. he was acceleration probably a bus length back so im going about 50mph and hes accelerating from my point so atleast 10mph gain on me. i see him get close and weave over so i hammer it. i look over and shake my head "no no" and just keep it floored. his expression was price-less like a pissed off "wtf" look on his face.

turns out he works at autozone which is right next door to my work. he came over and talked to me the day after sayin how his car all this stuff and he asks me what i got and i tell him its stock and he dosnt believe me. he then says how fast he was goin he claims 100mph but i wasnt lookin. i would say it was up there. speedlimit was only 45mph.

if u wanna talk highways ive topped out the '93.. 140mph

No "street" victory can ever stand up to a good timeslip. Find a legal track and race some guys on a test-n-tune day. Its cheap and its legal. And when the traps tell you you're fast, you don't need to beat some accident-waiting-to-happen on a public road.

That's probably the best advice you're going to get. I am speaking from experience as someone who is currently in the process of fighting a racing ticket. That **** sucks. Also, it's expensive. I understand it's hard to not race when someone wants to go, but trust me, it isn't worth it. I got lucky and no one wrecked and no one got killed, but the chance of that happening makes it all the more risky. Just stay smart, and your best bet is to go to a track; it measures your times, speed, and all that good stuff, all the stuff that helps you get better.

Some of the places that we street race, IMO, are safer than at the track. Street racing is given a bad name by all these ricer fu ckheads that race down the middle of main street and get in accidents and ****. TRUE streetracers have a good road that you can go to and get it off without the chance to hit another car.

How is racing on the street safer than a track? Im sure it takes an ambulance less time to travel 1/4 mile to come pry you out of your car than 30 miles out in the middle of a country road.
