Lt1's need full bolton's or so, some more than others. A hotcam and LT's usually evens things up. LT1 is NOT a bad motor, just not as good as LS1 (stock or mod for mod).
Nope. LT1s are somehow quicker with less power. An intake, LTs, and catback is good for 260-280rwhp which is enough to run with stock LS1s. Ick, I was also including a tune...
from what ive heard from a few lt1 guys, stuff is quite a bit more expensive for the lt1 than the ls1. any truth to this?
Somewhat. Some parts cost more, some don't. I do know that Mustang parts are cheaper than both, though.

so youre saying that it what is needed for an LT1 to run with a stock LS1, right?
what if you skip the things that you mentioned and ran the bottle? does the LT1 respond as well as the LS1?
They respond very well, but not quite as well as the LS1. They can't take as big a shot stock for stock, but they respond well. A 50 shot should have your average LT1 running with/beating most LS1s.
