I drove an 11.6 second SRT-4, and I sold it to buy a GT500. Now if I could just find one near MSRP I would be set. And for all the LS1 people, it wasa great motor in a crap car. How about those rear ends giving up the ghost after something as simple as DR's are put on. Don't make the Camaro out to be something it isn't. It was a great engine surrounded by poo.
the rear end is the weakest link of a maro, GMs trannys will blow fords out of the water with the junk they use in the mustangs

cheap interior? ya, so is the mustang, even the new s197s are crap just like the sn95s, and about just as comfortable to, where as the fbody has all the controls so you dont have to lean forward everytime you want to shift, change the HVAC or even the damned radio like the mustang does, guages are easier to read to (atleast then the new stangs)

btw JD do you have flow numbers for stock LS1 heads?

I love my brother's C6 'Vette but I was shocked as to how much plastic crap there is on the inside of a $55,000 car. I'd still take one in a heartbeat.

+1

The ones without the navigation screen look incredibly cheap. Plastic all over. But the seats feel better than most would expect.

Best I could find was the #8535.3 heads, #241 LS1 heads are a tad better. Keep in mind though that flow numbers are only half the story, velocity is just as important, and in many cases more important.

Head .100 .200 .300 .400 .500 .600 .625
Stock 853 (Intake) 67 122 178 215 219 227 227
Stock 853 (Exhaust) 52 97 133 156 170 180 180

Ummm I go consistant 1.5-1.6 60 foots on my 100% stock 10 bolt rear end, could your 11.6 Neon do that? Sure the 10 bolts are weak, but 90% of the breakage with them is on 6 speed cars with morons driving. Slicks and a 5000 rpm clutch dump will kill one, but a fast clutch slip and they are fine. Auto cars are much softer on the rear ends than M6 cars. Too bad you sold that Neon, I wanted a crack at it.
Actually the only part of the tranny I changed were the clutch/flywheel. Everything else is stock, and running fine last I heard. And 1.6 60's in a FWD car. Dream on, lol! It cut consistant 1.9-2.1's, and that was heads and shoulders above any other Neon there. The car was murder from a 40, I actually kept up (as in I would pull on him a little, have to shift, fall behind a little, get back up, have to shift)with a 2006 750 GSX-R before I sold it, and there were witnesses!!!!!

I'm sorry, but I had to lean just as much forward to reach the stick in my friend's LT1 as I do in my S197. And the controls weren't any more ergonomically placed than in my GT either. Your senses of perception are a bit off I think. You just sit leaned back a bit more in an F-body than in a mustang, although in the new mustangs you can adjust the seats enoughways to be justas leaned back in the cockpit as an F-body. I wouldn't compare the comfort level of any year mustang or f-body to anything more luxurious than a Taurus.....cuz they wouldn't compare well.

The only thing I'll give you is that the classic-font speedo gauge in my car took alot of getting used.

A friend of mine bought a brand new SLK55 AMG and there is no wood trim of any kind. Has the plastic look just like my Vette....lol.Rog is right though......I also have the navigation option (3LT package) and it really makes the dash much more refined.

The highest I ever trapped was 121, the car (after I sold it) trapped 126, but still onlyran an 11.6. (they took off the traction bars after I sold it because I had broken one)
