I would also think the exhaust was SLIGHTLY less resrictive on the Corvette. Camaros had a two-into one- and back into two setup while the Vette has a more traditional dual exhaust with two mufflers. Although I can't state for sure if this benefitted performance (If it did it's minimal at best). So to answer your question. Yes,Weight is the biggest factor.

lessweight + less drag coefficient + larger tires help the Vette ever so slightly...

just because they rated 310hp doesn't mean they have 310 crank hp. they are simply underrated.. even our 05+ stang GTs are underrated too.. rated 300hp and puts down 265-270rwhp which shows that 05+ stang GTs are actually 315-325hp. do the math and you will see what i am talking about!

LOL. I think you have seen some factory freaks. We can safely leave the Mustags right where they are rated at. 300HP. Nothing more, nothing less.

True that. I think Doodoads 13.43 is the exception more than the rule. A high 13 second car with your weightseems to point to 300 at the crankto me.

Dyno'd at the horsepower numbers in my sig, SAE corrected. Real dyno numbers for the temp/humidity in my area that day were 321hp/332tq. Car was completely stock except for unkown exhaust, it is suspected to be B&B Route 66.

OMG!!!! i am not gonna argue but then 99% of the stangs on this web site and on magazines are factory freaks.. on a magazine they dynoed a BONE STOCK 2005 stang and it put down 264.5rwhp and i read many threads here their stock stang dynoed 260-270rwhp..

hell my LT1 stock dynoed 250rwhp.. so you are saying or that web site saying stock stang dynoes less than my LT1 and heavier and runs faster?

i am not saying that just because i own one.. truth is truth.. stangs dynos around 260-270+ rwhp it has been proven over and over and i have 2 free dyno pulls coupon and i will dyno my car and post here the numbers.. a mid 13 sec. car CANNOT be 229rwhp.. most people will aggree with me here..

270rwhp=320hp at the crank
260rwhp 305hp at the crank
265rwhp 310hp at the crank

rwhp / 0/85 = crank hp

I HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN 05+ stangs dynoed 229rwhp.. hell, 99-04 stang GTs dynos around that if not more.. so why am i faster than 99-04 stangs if i dyno less + heavier?

I can agree that you probably dyno at what your claiming, it seems reasonable. Although, I don't like how your set on your math formulas. Efficiency isn't always going to be exactly matching your formulas.

it is not my math actually, i got it from kenne bell's web site and one of the magazine i had was calculating that way..

seriously guys.. ok 05+ stangs are 300hp.. but 229rwhp on a 05+ stang GT is just not right.. i don't know which kind of crack that web site designer smoking..

here is one dyno run a stock GT with only custom tune and they claim it put down 286rwhp.. and everyone knows justa tune will not give you 56rwhp on these cars..
