Default Ls1

Im posting this here cuz there are alot of ls1 guys on here. butDo Stock Ls1s dyno 300 rwhp. I have a friend who i want to read thhis thread who does not belive they dyno at 300rwhp. He believes there only rated at 310 at the the crank. so therefore there is no way they can dyno at 300rwhp.

Mine made 305rwhp stock and 325rwhp with a lid/exhaust setup. This was through an automatic as well....my buddies car made 312rwhp stock through a manual. We both have the "slower" of the LS1's since we didn't have the LS6 intake stock. '01-'02 LS1's are known to make over 310rwhp on a regular basis, some see over the 320rwhp mark.

If you see an LS1 dyno under 300rwhp, something is wrong with it...I've seen cars make anywhere from 293rwhp, at the lowest end, to 325+rwhp on the upper end.

There is a sticky in this forum titled "LS1." Everything you need to know is in there.
And yes, your friend is wrong.

The Vettes make no more power than an LS1 f-body...in most cases, they make less since they're IRS vs the f-body's solid axle.

Yes.
With respect to dyno numbers, there doesn't seem to be any real standard with respect to calibration, tie-down procedures, and other things that can affect the numbers so you shouldn't put too much importance in them. Elapsed times are a much better criterea because all 1/4 mile strips are the same length (1320 feet, duh!) and there are weather correction factors that can be applied to any timeslip.

I've heard of C5 auto's(97-00) put down under 300 quite frequently. Probably due to the IRS.

98LS1_ Sorry, did'nt read the whole thread (you beat me to it)
