I'd say practice your launch because good old day has probably been racing alot longer than you. As far as the cars I like the modded fox over the stock Camaro.

Does he have an automatic or a 6-speed?
From what some people here have been saying about the LT1, he could run mid-high 13's with a 6-speed or even high 13's with an auto.

 

6 spd and mines a 5spd

what sucks is i have all this crap done to my car and yet his stock *** will keep up with mine.......i guess this is why the camaros and mustangs fued so much but i cant wait to atleast let a somewhat rookie beat a veteran lol im 20 hes 40

 

His car is a low 14 car at best. If I owned your car I would be looking for mid 12's on a drag radial, but it seems to me that most peoples cars on here don't run what they should. You should have him with ease. His car feel fast because the LT1's make thier peak torque quite low in the RPM range, which makes them feel a lot faster than they really are. The butt-dyno is not very accurite
