g35s are much heavior w/ the same amount of hp. I just dont see how many people say they can kill a Z w/ there stock civic si; srt4, and what not. when i know a Z would smoke them.

 

I would be more concerned racing an srt4 than a 350z, by a long shot.

anywhere of a difference between 120-160lbs... and with the manual you get more hp, but auto you get more torque... I think it's a winnable race for you still... but regardless it should be close... There is something about those cars, that it does have trouble getting up and moving for some reason... from what my eyes have seen on the street and track.

I havent raced a Z but I raced two G35s one sedan and one coupe. The sedan I think was auto..not really sure, the coupe was stick and I got about a length and a half on him, but was still pulling when we stopped. I think the Z is a drivers race honestly, whoever hooks and knows how to shift will win. Should be a good race if you know how to drive your stang you will bring it home. Goodluck!

I should be able to give some insight here as my g/f has an 04 auto and my friend has an 06 manual and I drive both cars several times and messed around with them while in mine. I have a 98 GT auto vert, so thats like one of the slowest Mustangs in history haha. I think like high 6s or 7 flat to 60 mph and high 14s to 15 flat in the quarter, havent tested mine yet but that seems to be the average. Having said that, here is what happened when we raced around:

Stoplight racing is pretty even with the 04 auto, but she can get ahead pretty easily up around 50-80 mph. Highway speeds and faster. I can hang pretty well with her. My car seems to do better at higher speeds which is suprising since the Zs are higher revving and make more power towards the top end. I can hang right with her 04 auto in the 80 mph-120 mph range and sometimes get a little lead on her.

The 06 manual is a different story. He can own me from pretty much any speed. I can get a slight jump off the line, probably due to more tq, but he can easily catch and pass me and have a few cars by 70 ish. At the faster speeds like 80-120 I do a bit better, but he can punch it around 90 or so a put a couple lengths on me before I slowy start to reel him in but never get closer than a length.

They remind me of the RSXs, power at the bottom end is kinda weak especially compared to a V8 but they have nice top end power.

 

Civic SI beating one NO, SRT4 Beating one, I can see that EVERYTIME. Maybee its just me but we have ALOT of SRT4's down here. I have beat Every 350 I went against, ive only beat one SRT4. those are fast little Skittles.

Maybe its because 350z(more expensive, older guys that cant drive?)

Some guy in a 350z messed with me in my mustang. I kept up with im in my 87 GT, then again we were just having fun.

 

I think the SRT-4 and 350z would be even stock. But since wheelbarrles take mods better than 350z's, i'd put the W for the SRT-4.
