roll racing is for people who dont have the skill to launch a car..."displaying power" can be done on a dyno. it doesnt matter if you have a 642rwhp car, if you cant launch it, youre still only going to have a 12 second car...
In my old Fox 540 RWHP..Try launching that on street tires and tell me how that ends up!! 11.20's all day at the track with DR's.. But I dont drive around all day on DR's.. I was losing all day to 12.20 cars on the street. You can say You need the driver Mod but when it spins 1-2-3 under WOT it's useless.. From a roll it's a whole different story..

i dont know what to tell you...ive seen cars running in the 9s with good suspension builds and good tires lift the wheels on public streets...my comment wasnt aimed at you, just the people who insist on roll racing in general.

you're comparing 2 different types of racing. how many people do you know that race around turns on the road? apples to oranges
Not saying that.

What I mean is: a roll-on from 30 mph, or 70 mph to say, 130 mph, simulates accelerating out of a hairpin or sweeper down a straightway.

It really doesn't simulate anything but exceleration G's. Theres no corning G-force driving in a straight line.

It's fine though. I think roll racing is pretty gay but you seem to think it's the greatest **** ever. You stick to ricer rolls. It just so happens that ricer rolls are what every kid with a stock suspension FWD car or a stock tire RWD car do.

How did we get on the circuit topic? Maybe 1% of the people here race on a circuit. This is called Street/ Strip. Unless you take corners at 120 on the street who cares who does "better" in the corners.

I'll do a roll race if there is no chance of catching a red light, but roll racing sucks IMO.Until they start doing 40mph roll races at a drag strip roll racing is bogus.

exactly...

dont get me wrong, but racing is a test of the car and the driver...roll racing, especially with an automatic, only proves that you can hold your foot down for 10 or 12 seconds.

i mean, dont get me wrong, i do get into pissing around on the road, and in alot of cases it results in a roll race, but when people make plans to go meet and race, and they go from a roll...thats gay as hell.

I'm not saying that I prefer a Roll but I will never turn it down!!
I'll race from a dig a roll whatever I dont dislike either or the other. I just so happen to spend 1 Hour A day on the Highway.. So I'm more likely to find a racethere.

i know exactly what you mean, and im the same way..ill TRY to screw around with anyone who will go around...from riced out stock 1.5L automatic civic sedans to KB cobras...its all for fun. but my issue is with the people who MEET and set up races, and go from a roll.
