A sleeper got me
damn, usually when you see a truck and it's trying to mess with you, you think nothing of it, unless it's a Lightning or SRT 10. When i was stationed at Fl, we would go to the local sonic to hang out, usually mustangs, ricers and such. One guy had a sweet looking blue LX, super nice and this POS was sitting up front. It was a dark blue LX with miss matching fenders. I swear only 2 rims matched on the car, looked like it would do 16's in the quarter mile. so i told my friend with the nice looking LX, man what a POS, and he told me, POS? that car runs in the 11's, he told me that it had a built 351W will all the goodies on it. So you definitley can't judge a book by it's cover. If that car would have pulled up on me when i had my 95GT, i would have raced him and got my a$$ handed to me.
I don't know, a friend of mine has a lifted full size Bronko that he just rebuilt. that thing is sick, he said that he wanted to race me in the 1/8mile. We went to jolly jeepers and I drove it out there. I don't know you burp the throttle and the dam thing jumps like a jet boat at the river. I got on it a few time's and it's quick even with 5' tall tire's on it. Only draw back is after like 70 he run's out of gear
I'll tell you a good sleeper story. Me and a couple of guys were riding around in his trans-am. He had about 450 or 500 horses in it, bad *** car. We pull up next to a early to mid 90s nissan 240sx. We revved at him, and didn't think anything of it, but we took off, and I be damned if he didn't absolutely tear us a new one. We followed him and talked to him for a little while. Turns out he had a complete weight reduction kit, and 550 HP from some Nismo twin turbo set up. Absolutely blew us away. Oh yeah, and it had about 3 different paint combos on it. most of the car was black, but it had a faded blue hood and a green rear bumper. I saw one for sale on Ebay I wanted it so bad, I know it's kinda riceish, but that car was so bad ***.
i always get lifted trucks reving at me... i hate it, its so annoying. but anyway, there is a guy with a old blazer with peeling paint and the original wheels on it still. it looks sooo run down. but its got a built 460 (i think thats the size he said) in it and runs insane times at the track.
Trucks try and race me or beat me to a turn or something on a daily basis. If the truck is built, I can see why, but if they're not, they need to get something that can run fast enough to challenge me. I got smoked at the trackby a RamSRT-10 that had been twin turboe'd. Now that truck can go around and pickon cars, but others are a waste of gas. I don't bother anymore like I used to.
