I think this thread is a testiment to gm people, if we really are as ignorant as everyone makes us out to be, this thread would be in the trash can so fast. I don't understand all the fuss, such as the "LS1s neva loosssse!" (I know they are in jest, but still) comments making fun of ignorant gm people (there are those types of people in both camps) when this thread shows we are not that ignorant. If I really did beleive nothing could touch an LS1 then I would scream like Howard Dean, but clearly, I don't.

PS, there is no reason a full bolt on LS1 couldn't masscre a full bolt on GT

My friend had a nice T/A LS1, but couldn't keep it out of the garage long enough to have any fun with it.

Hm, that's weird. I never had a lick of problems with mine....actually, no one I know ever has had any troubles. I'm sure JD, Tommy, and all the other LS1 guys will feel the same way.

The only reason mine is ever down is for more go fast parts.

Good kill.

...If this race had gone past 80 mph, it may have been different...
thanx tommy.
i would have taken him through the quarter, i gave him the jump and pulled him. i'm fairly certain i could take a stockls1 from a 1st or 2nd gear roll up through my 4th gear (110ish). now a roll from 3rd or 4th would probably be more than i could handle.

I had a little trouble with my LS1. I fried the stock clutch at around 30,000 miles, which i would expect from a performance car. I also broke my transmission a little bit after that. The transmission was my fault though, i put a RAM HD clutch in the car without upgrading the hydraulics. Turns out I needed to change to an adjustable master and do the drill mod, so my fault. I also have recently started getting a ticking noise, i think its a lifter going out.
Other than that, it runs and has ran great. I am actually very surprised with how bad i beat on the car. I am even more surprised that i havent blown my rear yet. i've had it on DR's for over 1 1/2 years now. Probably only made about 20 track passes with 3k rpms launches, but the rear has held up great. No noises at all from it.
