I guess there are more than a few F-bodies with true dual exhaust...

Do what?

Woah, sorry fella. Put an "S" on the back there.

As stated, a full boltons GT should have no problems with a stock LS1, espcially from a stop.

Hell, I completely destroyed several LS1 6spd cars from a stop without the cams. From a roll I would hold my own until 4th when they would start getting away.

Completely destroyed? Is this with the blower? That's not a "bolt-on," it's a power adder. Biiiig difference.
A full bolt-on new edge GT can beat a stock 6-speed LS1 but not completely destroy it. How fast do you thinknew edgesrun without opening up the motor or spraying/boosting them? The guy I ran has run 12.9 and that is supposedly quite good for a bolt-on new edge. A stock 6-speed LS1 can do that, or at least come close.

This was pre blower, pre cams. Just the boltons (exhaust, intake, gears, pulleys) and drag radails. Its all about traction. With the drag radials + 3.73s I was able to put 2-3 cars on several 6spd LS1 cars just out of first gear. Just get a hell of a holeshot and they are not gonna come back.

As stated, from a roll (where you take both driver error and for the most part the drag radials out of the equation) it was very even until I went into 4th gear when they would start to pull away. After 4th I would get murdered really bad (pulled me real hard in 5th).

I still do NOT buy the 12.9 thing. I have yet to see a single stock LS1 car break into the 12s on video or real life. It seems like all these great drivers with 25K to spend on a car (new at least) cannot afford a video camera.

I know one thing, my buddies 00 LS1 is a mid 13 second car at best. The massive hurtin I put on him from a stop says it all. The are fast cars, and I have alot of respect for the power they can make from very few mods, but the typical LS1 with the typical driver is not the 12 second beast its made out to be.

Boltons only, plus maybe a little suspension work (control arms, 4cyl front springs) should put a GT deep into the 12.90s~ with a 4.30 gearset and some decent drag radials. I don't have a problem seeing a 12.80 or a little lower with a set of slicks and the right driver. As I am 100 percent sure you know, its all about the launch.

This is the classical ricer response. Put a JATO on the roof of my geo prizm and it will outrun a LS7 vette too... at least until it flips over and kills me.

No doubt a full boltons GT will get completely violated by a LS1 with very very few mods, but to say that a stock LS1 is out of reach of a boltons only GT is foolish. Its been done over and over, I dunno why you guys seem to think its impossible.

So then this is a ricer quote...?

I love the whole Mustang vs. F-body thing we have going on.

And my damn window motors are pissing me off. I replaced the driver's side on my own, wasn't too hard. But the wheel that keeps it aligned broke so I need to figure out how to work that out. And my passenger side is about dead. Understandable, however, since it has lasted 11 years and 185,000+ miles...

Sorry, but it actually does happen and has been documented many times. I know two guys who have done it themselves with stock 6-speed LS1 F-bodies (those two brothers who raced each other on Pinks, Camaro and Firebird). One hit 12.89 in his wife's SS. He currently owns the world's fastest naturally aspirated 6-speed car (the orange one he raced on the show) so he obviously knows his way around a stick shift. Your buddy needs driving lessons.
If my g/f's stock 2.73-geared auto can run 13.3 ( I was there), why can't a 3.42-geared manual hit 12.9?

A full bolt-on new edge with gears and DR's running 12.9? If its happened thats about as rare as a stock f-body running 12.9...
