Me vs S2000 +PROBLEM!!
ok i finally got to race this yellow s2000 at my school the first race we raced from a roll at about 45-50MPH he didnt move from the side of my car thats when i got nervous didnt think those things were that fast we raced from a 45MPH roll again i got him by a car or so and a launch i took him by 2 and a roll out of frist i beat him by a good 4 cars but that little thing sure gave me a run for my money very QUICK....but on the final run my car started making a weird clicking noise wen i acclerate the only example of the sound i can think of is when you put a card between the spokes of a bicycle and it clicks it dosent sound to good not sure wut it is but im putting it in the shop tomrrow anyidea wut it might be i was thinking a valve or a ROD but help please thank you!
Yep sounds like a blown spark plug. Happened to my stang like 3 weeks ago, at low speeds though. It sounds very much like how you described only under accel.
Open your hood, keep the car on, and look at all the coil packs. If one moves excessively, thats where you start. Turn off the car, pull out the coil pack, open your spark plug, and check out the threads and gap, if any. Mine were all melted and the spark plug was just sitting in it. Ended up payin Ford outta the butt to have it heli-coiled because the 4.6l Mustang plugs are soo deep in the motor that no other shop could fix it but Ford. It sucks, but thats life. Always use a rubber hose to thread the plugs before tightening and always torque them to 15lbs.
