me vs. s2000
crap talking friend is try to set up a race w/ me.it's me against the torqueless wonder, the s2000.i have a 2007 mustang v6. so far all i have is jlt intake, 93 race tune, flowmaster exhaust, andsaleen short shifter. probably putting 210 to the wheels and alot more torque than him, butin a heavier body.
his s2000 is completely stock. what's your take on it?
s2000,crank -240hp, 162tq 2800lb
me,crank - 235hp, 270tq 3300lb
on paper, with even drivers, it looks like he has a good upper hand.

Well first off your not putting 210 rwhp down with CAI and Tune.
Stock V6 puts down 165-170 rwhp, so no way a tune and CAI gave you 45-50 rwhp. Your exhaust does little or near nothing for HP.
One thing your right about. He has the upper hand. More hp, you have more TQ but he weighs alot less. They run low to mid 14's. There more in line with a New Edge Mustang GT. They rev higher 7-8k rpm, they will have more topend.
Race them and see he way miss a shift.

i'm not saying that i do or don't have 210 to the wheels. just an estimated guess. it is possible and not out the ordinary, check it out.

06Saleen----His horsepower estimates are right on. With tune, intake, and exhaust, I have no doubts that a manual 4.0 V6 is putting down around210 rwhp.
Jaded-- With your mods, you'd be mid to high 14s. I think you will be pretty even to 60 mph or so... if you go 70 and faster, the downside of being sohc will kick in, and he'll probably start pulling. At the very least, if I owned an S2000, and a V6 'Stang was hanging with me through 60, I'd give it some respect. And like others mentioned.. if he messes up, or is not a great driver.. you could take him too, but only if you're driving perfect.
Good luck. Nothing sucks more than a wise cracking "friend".

Tune and CAI does not give you 30-40 rwhp! I dont care what you guys read or what some Shop tells you. Worked shops and I am telling you do not get 30-40 rwhp from a tune and CAI and sure as heck adding a single muffler help any at all. Shops can make a dyno read whatever it wants. If you want to belive that crap go ahead. I have done before and after dynos on many types of cars and your not getting 30-40 rwhp with a CAI and I think he said it was a canned tune and a muffler.
Either way the S2000 for the win
