I've been to about 4 different tracks and I always watch first when it's a new place just to see how everything goes. Taking it easy the first trip down the strip is a good idea just to see where the exit is. My first trip down an 1/8th last summer had me VERY surprised when I found out you needed to hit the brakes pretty quick after the 1/8th line in order to slow down in time...pretty scary for a second there!
