First off nice kill, second, you and him should both have your drivers license taken from you. You almost hit a Jeep and he was spinning out with his g/f in the car, thats pretty bad if you feel you have to do something like that and risk your life and others around you. You raced a pretty slow car if it was the Subaru RS, but if it was the regular Impreza WRX, he is turbo'd and should have beat you, so his car probably did shut off so thats why you won.

Hah, I kinda got similar responses about my thread "You Guys Are Gonna Love This". Turns out, no one loved it, lol. Oh well. At least weraced far out of town. I try my hardest not to race in town. If its a ricer I know I'll beat, I just let 'em go. And I never instigate the race. If I want to race someone, I'll get them to take it out of town. If it's someone who'll be a good race, and seeing them again is unlikey, yeah. Or if they're just REALLY asking for it, okay. But even then, I'll only do it if there's no traffic around, and I keep speeds down. If I'm ahead and still pulling at 5ish over the limit, that counts as a kill enough to me that I'll let out. I like racing, but I'm not into needlessly endangering other motorists.

Ouch, sometimes its painful learning the "Ways of the Forum". Sounds like a little older, more responsible crowd here (which I relate to). Don't take their critcism too hard, it is sound advice. We've all (mostly) have had a street experience that is borderline stupid. The only thing is if you post it, at least aknowledge you were being a dumbass and "learned your lesson". Just imagine if the asshat that spun out behind you had hit someone, now you and your car are a suspect in a "street racing" incident and a possible associated factor in the accident. Same thing if you had hit the Jeep, just not worth getting your car impounded, suspended license, fined ($$$), insurance hike, and criminal record. Just have to learn to restrain yourself and get on it at the right time and place. Cheers.

I have a 97 mustang gt with slp loudmouth and im driving withmy friend to a restaurant. i have other friends following me there. i see a white impreza with carbon fiber hood and the biggest can i ever saw. He pulls up next to me and revs and i hear what i thought was a turbo when he let off. i got a little scared. i redline to try to scare him off. doesnt work. Hes in a far right lane and im turning left and he follows(and cuts someone off to get over). i know its on ( oh boy oh boy oh boy)and my adrenaline starts pumping(this would have been maybe my 3rd race in rush hour). We pull up at a redlight down the road and he rolls down his window. he asks "want to bet". i said no way i just race for fun(i had no money and wasn't even gonna bet if i did). i pull a way we mess with eachother and then another red light. were at rhe front and we sounded like a carshow we were so loud.( That is screaming I love it up thebutt)he rolls down his window and tries to bully me by saying "how much money you got" i yell at him "more than you and look at the light( lol you both sound like teens so I'm gonna say you each had about 20 dollars)and pull away(earlier i did some burnouts so this helpes a lot for my traction)(That will hurt you traction numb nuts). were going and he is trailing. as soon as i get to 3 gear, i jump ahead and start to pull away(with a car 10 feet in front of me). This was the ending point for his cockiness. I look ahead and almost side swipe a jeep ( theres something to brag about). and when i look in my mirrors, i see him doing a 360 and spin out ( o **** fast and the furious I'm a f*cking ******). My friends later tell me that his car shut off and he was bitching and moaning like no other ( its foreign what do you expect). It was the craziest thing i ever saw and then realized, he was with his girlfriend. I think that it must have killed him to know his girlfriend thinks he has a slow car (or that he almost killed her). oh and from whati thought was a turbo, was just an intake (turbonator
). now i think i should have bet him but one i had no money and two he most likely wouldn't have paid me. this was the most intense night ever .

unsafe yeah, but i wont jump on the bash-wagon 
. if you hadnt included the bit about him spinning out and you almost hitting a jeep, they would be praising you (with the exception of the die-hard guys who always bash street racing). just watch out for traffic, and next time do it where no ones at. kill 'em in a safe place.
