I have a 97 cobra, 4x10s intake, exhaust tips(not the full system), pulleys and nos
(the car was a gift)
I have about 1600 to invest in it..
I'm going up against a 02 vette it dyno'd 350hp without nos, supposedly he's installing nos and thats all he has..maybe intake but no exhaust nor anything big besides nos..
do I have a chance? if so, with what mods?

 

with 1700 i'd invest in full exhaust and cams...wait with DOHC your cams are pretty expensive nevermind....

I'd go with full exhaust and drag radials. If you use the bottle and the vette doesn't, then you may have a chance. If the vette sprays, you are screwed.

 

+1. Go with longtubes. Has the car been dyno tuned for the nitrous?

 

nope it hasnt been dyno'd, so a full exhaust system? What kind? bbk?

 

sure. Or MAC...whatever, get long tubes and midpipe, catback. Then if you have enough saved over (which I doubt because that stuff isn't cheap) get cams.

 

tires and bigger nozzle for your nitrous kit....
