I am sitting a stop light and this vtec civic rols up next to me. It was that VTEC blue color and had a body kit on it and rims and was lowered down almost to the ground. He was very proud of his VTEC, he had it badged all over his car. Then he rolls his window down to talk to me and revs up at me so naturally i let him hear those beastly bassanis rumble back at him. He gets a "im trying not to look like im impressed" type of look on his face and says "what size engine is in that thing?" Knowing that he only had a 4 cylinder i had to reply to that by saying " twice the size of yours". He got a mean look on his face that time and replied...well then i guess it would be realy embarrasing if i beat you. and i replied..."not gonna happen bud." so i hold it at about 1700 rpm and dump the clutch wiht a little bit of tire spinning, but my tires are so worn down that it doesnt bother me. And run it up to 6900 and 45 mph and slam 2nd. The car broke traction again and did a little dance. Ran it up to 6900 again and 70 mph and hit 3rd. Cherped it again and ran to about 85 and let off it....luckly it was about 11:30 at night so there wasnt a lot of traffic. And as im slowing down i look in my mirror and here he comes....gets right up next to me and says...."you got lucky." At this point i start to laugh my @$$ off right in his face and start to think "this guy is a real @$$hole." so i dropped into 2nd at about 45 and left him again. He never did get back beside me again and i turned off that road and went about my business. Havnt seen him around there since.

 

revved to 6900?

i love it. so funny. why, oh why, would a 160hp beast rev on a mach1? that is the real question here. obviously outmatched. good slay.

actually, yeaterday there was a kid w/ open exhaust on his civic hatch trying to get with me in traffic. (i was in the talon) he pulled up and i used my rice-off (he was riced).
after he heard the bov and saw the awd turbo badge, he slipped back into traffic. oops.



atleast he had his kit painted...but he had a dual tip exhaust. yuck.

 

The mach1 actually r/l at around 6800, i meant to shift at about 6500 but by the time i had the clutch to the floor i was at about 6900, those double over head cams are realy screaming by then, and with those bassani's it really sound good, i think i may have made him pee his pants.

 

I agree 100%. I never rev at people, and frankly I play my music too loud to tell if they rev at me ever... oh well.
