no it said gt on the side, why would i lie when i know they can beat me.....i should have dropped it to 3rd but i wasnt really thinking, i was on a long drive home from my cousins house.

 

The point you're missing is the following, you came here making a claim to beat an S197 by dropping into 4th gear at 50 and the S197 taking 110 to go by you, had the guy beeped 3 times as you said after your initial post he would have dropped to 2nd or some to third and heck even you could have easily dropped to 2nd gear. Lets go a step further, say he stayed in 4th as well, he still would have started pulling away right away.

An S197 doesn't feel that fast from inside the cabin, it's a big car so the butt dyno won't be as acurate as it would seem to be in a lighter car like the Fox.

Having raced these cars since 1980 in one form or another I know how they perform in the trim you mentioned (Fox 5.0's)and the guy driving the S197 would have had to be asleep to lose to a guy in 4th gear at 50mph when he punches it and to take till 110 to pass you, he seriously wasn't aware of the race. I've had it happen to me where someone claimed a win when I wasn't aware that there was a race.

I think that the s197 gt was toying with you.I highly doubt that it was a V6 also, it wouldn't be able to keep up (puts flame suit on).

I think the word "race" is being thrown around pretty liberally here. 50 mph start isn't a race, it's just dicking around.
