I might not be able to launch well but I can shift damn good. With the clutch grabing so well I can actualy be on and off the clutch faster then I can get the stick into another gear. I should be able to cut another .1 witha short throw. When I upgrade the tranny then I will power shift.

I think that I have figured out what I am going to do... I need a tune up. But I didn't plan on it untill I do headers. Since I can't afford them for a while I got to thinking. I could jus replace plugs and wires but I don't wanna half *** the tune up by not replacing the opti. So. here is what I plan.

a delteq opti direct system to replace the opti
new plugs
wires
Cleaning my CAI filter
New fuel filter
And possibly doing LCA's and relo brakets

I might even be able to do all this in about 3 weeks if work and money cooperates and head back to the track to see how it goes..

270 rwhp isnt gonna get 12's unless you are light and it hooks. Think around 2700lbs and then 270 will get you there. Gettin there with 250rwhp is gonna be tougher. You still need power to get down the track.

It does sound like an opti problem, they are so much fun to change. I really do hope you both see 12's, its a great feeling when you get a slip with that on it.

4 second 60'? I can walk that fast, so is the Civic really that slow? I think not, more like 2.6 or so. When you get down to the 1.6-1.5 range and faster, you need to sit right or you can get hurt. FYI...

The opti isn't bad to do. I can do one in just over an hour. But since it would cost around 300 for the opti I figure I could just go a little further and get rid of it totaly... 4 coils are a lot better then 1 Some people see a gain of .2 with the install of a delteq on an otherwise healthy system so I think with the way it runs I could get at least that. I should be able to remove some weight as well including not running so much gas as I did this run [:@] Like I said, it's a challange but I'm up for it. I can't wait to pull a 1.7 60 foot I have a few other tricks up my sleave as well....

I would really like to get some drag radials before I go back to the track, probably late March/early April. My 60' is 2.11-2.23, it's killing me. I'm also getting an exhaust cutout soon. With those two mods, along with my air intake, I should go low 13's, as I have already run 13.38 @ 105 (2.13 60 ft) with just the airbox lid. I would also like to ditch the restrictive exhaust manifolds and y-pipe but that's $$$$. I consistently trap at 105 with good cool air so I should be able to go 13 flat with few mods.
Nice run Harlan!

Thats something that I do not envy on the LS1's. The pancake they call a Y pipe You should see low 13's with that tommy. with DR's you will probably hit 12's..

Thanks Harlan! I don't think I'll see 12's until I do something more about the exhaust than just a cutout. The cutout will only give me about 1 tenth or maybe 1.5, tops. All it's cutting out is the muffler. The DRs should give me about 2 tenths. I have only hit 13.38 once, usually I run 13.5-13.7. Headers and a round y-pipe (the driver side of the stocker looks like a flatworm) would get me 12's, or maybe a torque converter. These 2.73 gears could use a little help on the low end.
BTW, 13.7 is pretty damn good for an LT1 on street tires. Sometimes my LS1 doesn't go that fast.
