indeed. I was totaly pleased. Given my 14.6 run over a year ago (again, long sory) I was really happy when I saw that my first run was a 13.9. The run felt strong and I didn;t spin so I thought that it might not have much left in it. The second run when I saw the 13.7 I almost wet myself. If not for me screwing up and the humidity rising I might have wiggled a 13.6 out of it that night. but I am going to need traction and a tune up if I want better then that... and I do want better then that

270 rwhp isnt gonna get 12's unless you are light and it hooks. Think around 2700lbs and then 270 will get you there. Gettin there with 250rwhp is gonna be tougher. You still need power to get down the track.
try getting there with 165rwhp(and 165fwhp), on snow tires nonetheless.
i wish i would have ran with 270awhp. guess i gotta skip all that and go big time.

I am actualy intimidated by slicks. I am still a strip n00b and would rather get some more runs in before I think about slicks. but since I am moving soon I have to pretty much hold off on a lot of stuff anyway. I am still hoping just to barrow some DR's and tune up the car and maybe add some LCA's and see what happens. 12.99 will seem a lot more atainable if I hit a low 13 next time

But yeah that 102 MPH means that I can do a good bit better. And I still think the car not running right is holding that back as it si
Don't be afraid of slicks man, just get a set of used wheels and mount some slicks on them and get a small jack from Sears that fits in the trunk and go for it. You said you already have the rear end bulletproof, so why not go for the gusto. You're going about your build-up just like I did, rear first than tranny then engine, but I went with slicks as soon as I could find some wheels and I've had mucho fun with them every since. You do need to add a driveshaft loop to run the slicks, but they're cheap and an easy bolt on to do. Even damn Camaros should run on slicks! That way they can't keep making excuses about not having traction! LOL

Yeah I'm going to need a DS loop. Technicly I also need an SFI or snell rated helmet as well but meh. Slicks sound like fun tho. I could really use a line lock for both the burn out box an the tree but that will have to come later. I just need to find a set of slicks that will keep me from having to touch 5th crossing the line. So I just need to keep the diamter right close to what I have now. Depending on how much I pocket from my pay check this week I might have my opti convertion kit ordered next week which means the week after that I can have my full tune up done as well as my LCA's and relocation brackets ordered and back to teh track I go. I'm still gona see if I can find some damn drag radials..
