turbo dsm's aren't that fast stock, its jsut all the potential they have. I know my 94 GT feels alot faster than my 90 Talon was, and they are a very hard to launch properly (at least mine was) they bog very easily

Well I raped 2 different gst's from a dig and a roll.

1st one had boltons and was running 14psi and the other one was unknown. On the modded one I pulled a few buslengths from a stop and just made him look stupid from a roll. Same with the other one, but he actually hung for a second from a roll(not sure on his mods).

I would say if the gsx driver can launch(most people cant launch awd cars) then he will take maybe a car off the line, but by 30 he will be staring at taillights and getting raped. end of story

I don't wanna sound like a dick but, your 94 GT vert is a little slow and heavy to be putting a buslength on a modded GS-T let alone a FEW buslengths, your heavier with less horsepower. I just can't believe your story without some sort of proof. So unfornately for you I call bs.
thank you...

drhoward it's probably because you weren't slipping the clutch right. If you just dump the clutch it will bog every time unless you are high in the rpms. I don't beleive sypynsyrup either because I have a 2g gst with mods andit will smoke any stock GT from a dig or from a roll. The problem with it is the chance of it breaking down is very high even though I have maintain the car to the T since I bought it three years ago. Back to the question though if the guy in the gsx can get a good launch sorry to say but you probably won't over take him in a quarter. You may catch him but if the gsx is stock then chances are he doesn't know how to launch very well so I say its a 50/50.

Ya I know you have to slip the clutch...I do know how to drive, but it is hard to get it in that sweet spot, at least mine was very hard to find. But I think the tranny was rebuilt in it and it could have been done poorly

I think that the gsx would lose the only good years of those cars were around 1992 or before but they suck now. Back in the day they had a 6 bolt flywheel which kept them from crank walking once they used the 7 bolt they lose like 30 horse power. Just recently my mana ger said that he was going to race my friend who has a 1996 stang gt he has a 1993 eagle talon. I told him he would lose but they said that when the gt launched it spun forever and the talon launched fast the mustang is an auto and cuaght up with him and passed his punk *** then he said that he down shifted and cuaght up by the time he got back in 4th he passed him at like 120 and kept going tony said that it was a good race he said he was going to make his stang a 5 speed. then race again.

Oh so the flywheel is what made my old GST walk....damn if I had only known. You do know there is no real power difference between a 6 and a 7 bolt. Actually a 7 bolt will make slightly more power because of a 8:5 vs. 7:8 compression.

Stock for stock the GT has it hands down. People have ran very low 14s with an auto New Edge. Can't say the same for a bone stock DSM. From the butt dyno this car is way faster than my old DSM. Not to take anything away from them they respond pretty well with just some cheapo mods. For those 3 days mine ran it was awesome.

It was actually just over a year ago. The week before spring break. After getting the clutch/flywheel and other random parts replaced. Rolled it out on a friday. Didn't beat on it too much since the clutch needed to be broken in. Drove it all over the place on friday night and saturday. On Sunday I do my first "mod" and add a boost gauge. About 5 hours later it develops the dreaded tick. The rest is history as they say....
