GSX eclipse vs Mustang GT
I think you guys have a misconception of how the eclipse's "launch".
On a stock car you cannot do a STI style "hold it to the floor and drop the clutch" launch. Do that on a stock GSX and I give you MAYBE 3 times before the transmission case gets penetrated by something covered in bearing fragments
My brother owned a 90 TSI turbo AWD. From a stop (stock vs stock basically), with the "best safe" launch he could get, I could simply let out the clutch easy and floor the car once it was all the way out... and W A L K em.
Its not even a race.

The biggest question is how much boost is this guy running? You could take a 1g dsm, make a $15 boost controller, drop the cat-back so it's open downpipe, run 13's and still call it stock (that's just a technicality). This is harder to do on a 2g though, it's turbo, intercooler piping, and blow-off valve are TeHSuCK.If it's running 14psi (stock for a 2g)or lower i'd give it to the mustang, it would need at least 17psi on the stock turbofor a good race.

I have never ran into any eclipse that had anything for my car, all the way from stock up to now. I am sure they are out there.. but its not very common.
IDK what this thread was about... but thereliablility thing is no lie..... an idiot with a 4th gen ran stock boost on me in a FWD model.... I took him
then he upped the boost to 19PSI (that's what he told me)
#1 he was fuel cutting like crazy
#2 hisengine messed up during the run

the car would be crazy fast with the proper turbo/injectors and boost controlling application as you can plainly see... but most are sadly driven by people like the posted

The things youre talking about are "best case senerio" stuff though. Some guy on some forum did it once.. not gonna happen every time with every driver (or even close).

not just me, but any turbo owner can testify as to how much something as simple as a cheap boost controller, and removing things can make the car MUCH faster. ive seen otherwise stock Evo 8s with an MBC and good tires run in the mid 12s...not common, but possible.
2000GT4.6, youre talking about your heavily modded car walking turbo DSMs..and i should hope that is the case unless something is wrong with your car. With street tires, I can launch my 1g around 3 grand with very little tire spin, and it grips and goes. Would it keep up with your car? hell no! Would it keep pace with a stock auto new edge GT? I bet that it would. There are also "free mods" that you cannot visually point out, such as a piped cat, or balance shaft and AC removal. These are items that add small amounts of power, but also increase the rpm speed and the "spool time" of the DSM...especially the balance shafts and cat removal.
